The body is machined from A2014 super light duralumin, and the tooth face is nickel plated to lift surface hardness from about Hv 350 to Hv 500. It works with standard camshafts, but its purpose is letting intake and exhaust overlap be tuned around the longer duration of HKS performance cams.
