APR's air-to-water intercooler system replaces the undersized factory charge air cooler on the 2.9T EA839 with a 5,500cm3 unit, 194% larger than the 1,870cm3 original. The factory cooler heat soaks quickly and forces the ECU to pull timing and power through a quarter mile pass or a lap of a circuit; the APR core holds intake air temperature down and keeps output consistent instead. A proprietary aluminum cooling core sits between CFD optimized cast aluminum end tanks, CNC machined and TIG welded, and flows more than stock at every measured pressure differential. Application specific ez-flow charge air hoses, coolant hoses and CNC bent, laser cut brackets are included, and the system bolts on without tuning and does not negatively impact emissions.
