Clutch Masters part number 16063-HDC6 is the FX400 6-puck single-disc kit for the R154-equipped MKIII Supra. The FX400 system pairs the Power Plus I hi-leverage heavy-duty pressure plate with a sprung ceramic disc, a combination Clutch Masters rates at a 170% increase in holding capacity over stock and classes as race/street. The sprung hub damps driveline shock, which is what keeps a ceramic disc of this capacity tolerable on the road at all.

The suffix is the whole story on this part. C6 is the 6-puck ceramic paddle disc, the more aggressive of the two FX400 discs. Clutch Masters is blunt about the consequence: the solid, no-marcel friction rivet design engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse, and they note the paddle design may not be ideal for street-driven vehicles. If the car is a daily driver, the sibling part 16063-HDCL, the FX400 8-puck disc, which uses a marcel cushion between the linings for minimal chatter, is the one Clutch Masters designs for street use. No flywheel is included in this kit. Clutch Masters notes ceramic discs are not recommended for stock or near-stock vehicles and are not intended to extend clutch life.

Returns
