This kit replaces the E46 cooling system's ageing rubber hoses with three black silicone hoses: the upper radiator hose, the lower radiator hose and the auxiliary water pump hose. Each is built from high quality silicone with three to five reinforcement layers depending on inner diameter, so it holds pressure and heat far longer than the factory rubber, which hardens and cracks with age. The original quick connectors are reused; the factory clamp is cut off with a hacksaw and the connector is secured to the silicone hose with a regular hose clamp. Colour makes no difference to performance.
