Hawk Super Duty front disc brake pads use a Ferro-Carbon friction compound engineered for Class 2 and heavier on-highway commercial vehicles, professional fleets over one ton, and light trucks carrying or towing excessive payloads. The compound holds an extremely high coefficient of friction across a 100 to 750°F operating range, with optimal performance between 100 and 500°F, so pedal feel and stopping power stay consistent through repeated heavy braking where a standard replacement pad fades. Pad thickness is 0.710 in, and the compound is formulated for iron and steel rotors only, not carbon ceramic discs.
