Hipermax S is HKS's street and sport coilover line, and the full kit ships as a matched four corner set of dampers and springs. Damping adjusts through 30 levels front and rear and leaves the factory set at position 15, and both ends are full length adjustable so ride height changes without trading away damper stroke. Front springs are 137 N/mm (14.0 kgf/mm) on a 200 mm free length and rears are 78 N/mm (8.0 kgf/mm) on a 250 mm free length, both straight wound, with 19.8 N/mm helper springs fitted front and rear. Height range runs from stock down to 92 mm lower at the front and 77 mm lower at the rear. Damper bodies are upright rather than inverted, damper and spring form an integrated assembly, and the upper mounts are rubber rather than pillowball, which keeps road noise and harshness closer to standard. HKS quotes 1775 N rebound and 637 N bump at the front and 912 N and 422 N at the rear at 0.1 m/sec piston speed, and rates the revised internals at 3 years or 60,000 km.
