The Allison transmission is the backbone of your L5P Duramax, responsible for transmitting substantial torque from your powerful V8 diesel engine. While the transmission cooler effectively regulates trans fluid temperatures, this is only possible if the fluid can reach it.

Stock cooling systems in the Allison 1000 transmission utilize an in-line thermal bypass valve to manage fluid flow to the transmission cooler.
