The Mishimoto Performance Air-to-Water Intercooler upgrades the factory charge cooler on the 2015-2020 BMW F8X M3, M4 and M2 Competition with the S55 engine. Full cast aluminum end tanks are TIG-welded to a bar-and-plate core with internal air diverters on the inlet and outlet for even flow, and a single-pass internal fin layout optimizes heat transfer to the coolant. The core grows 29-percent in volume and 16-percent in flow with no installation modifications. Tested with the Mishimoto Performance Heat Exchanger it dropped intake air temperatures by 12F and averaged 11 whp and 8 wtq gains with peaks up to 31 whp and 10 wtq. A micro-wrinkle black finish suits the F8X engine bay.
