The dual-pass layout extends coolant contact time for more uniform charge-air cooling and fewer temperature spikes during sustained runs. The bar-and-plate aluminum construction transfers heat from the intake charge into the coolant circuit, holding intake temperatures down to limit heat soak and detonation under load.
