A brake pad wear sensor is consumed with the pad it monitors: as the friction material thins, the pad grinds through the sensor element and opens the circuit the instrument cluster watches, lighting the brake warning before the backing plate ever touches the rotor. PowerStop builds this front sensor to the same form, fit and function as the original BMW part, with the grommets, mounting clips and cable protection sleeve needed for a water-tight connection into the factory harness. Each unit is tested at 500F so electrode conductivity holds up through repeated heat cycles, and it installs with no modifications or special tools.
