This rear sensor is the wear item that tells the instrument cluster the pads are finished, and it has to be renewed with every pad change because the element is destroyed once the friction material reaches it. PowerStop matches the original connector, lead length and routing so the harness sits where the factory part did, and supplies the grommets, mounting clips and cable protection sleeve that keep the connection water-tight. The element is produced to OEM conductivity requirements and tested at 500F, so the warning triggers at the correct pad thickness rather than early or late. Installation is plug in and go.
