Cross-drilled holes and rounded slots vent the gas, dust and water that glaze a hot friction surface, keeping the pad in clean contact with 312mm x 25mm of vented G3000 cast iron. The drill holes are chamfered and the slot ends rounded to spread stress, so the casting resists the cracking that plagues cheaper drilled discs under repeated heat cycles. Weight and vane count match the original equipment casting, and a silver zinc dichromate plating shields the hat, edges and vanes from corrosion. Each rotor is 100% dynamic mill balanced and machined to tight disc thickness variation and runout limits, then bolts to the factory caliper with no modification.
