This front caliper assembly functions as a direct bolt-on replacement, enhancing braking efficiency by replacing the factory single calipers found on numerous GM passenger vehicles and trucks manufactured from 1968 to 1996. Crafted from forged billet aluminum, the design incorporates stainless steel pistons along with high-temperature competition seals, effectively addressing common issues such as rust, bore pitting, and seal failures typical of original equipment designs.
The calipers are engineered to provide robust performance with a significant reduction in weight, offering reliability for both street and track use. When installed, they occupy the original mounting location over stock rotors and utilize original equipment D52 brake pads. This ensures compatibility with existing braking systems while enhancing overall braking capabilities.
Each caliper features a 2.00-inch piston diameter, delivering a total piston area of 6.28 square inches per caliper, which maintains the original front-to-rear brake bias. This design allows for seamless integration with the OE master cylinder without requiring modifications.
