The D8-6 Front calipers function as a direct bolt-on replacement for original equipment calipers, designed specifically for 1965-1982 Corvettes. Featuring Type III hard anodized forged billet aluminum bodies, these calipers ensure enhanced durability and resistance against corrosion, eliminating common issues like rust and bore pitting.
Equipped with stainless steel pistons and high-temperature seals, the calipers deliver reliable performance even in extreme conditions. This design ensures minimal maintenance needs, allowing for a smoother driving experience. The six-piston configuration allows for exceptional pad clamping power, providing the necessary stopping force under various driving conditions.
Installation is straightforward, as the calipers mount in the stock location over original rotors, utilizing the original style brake pads. They are compatible with most production wheels from 1967 onwards, although some earlier models, particularly the 1965-66 OE “JK” code steel wheels and specific aftermarket alloy wheels, may require a wheel spacer of 3/16” or more for optimal clearance.
The included DOT compliant stainless braided brake lines and high-friction Promatrix brake pads contribute to an overall enhanced braking system, delivering both performance and safety.
