This front brake system enhances thermal stability and durability for drag cars that also operate on the street. The GT48 directional vane Spec 37 alloy vented iron rotors measure 12.88 inches in diameter and .81 inches in thickness, weighing only 10.2 pounds each, delivering high torque stopping power while significantly reducing overall weight compared to stock components.
Incorporating lightweight forged aluminum hats, this design further optimizes weight savings while securely mounting the rotors to original equipment hubs. The radial mount four-piston aluminum calipers weigh a mere 4.1 pounds each, offering efficient clamping force without compromising performance. Engineered with stainless steel pistons and internal bore seals, these calipers ensure longevity and reliability, while the stainless steel bridge wear plates contribute to increased durability.
Accessing the brake pads is simplified with e-clip style retaining pins, allowing for quick changes without needing to detach the calipers. The BP-20 compound SmartPads provide excellent responsiveness and holding power in both cold and hot conditions while resisting fade during extended use.
This complete setup ensures a straightforward bolt-on installation to the original spindle and hub, requiring a minimum wheel size of 17 inches. A stainless steel braided flexline kit is also available separately to optimize the performance further.
