Chassis Bracing: Drivetrain Stabilizers

On longitudinal engine Audi and Volkswagen models, the engine and transmission can rock noticeably under hard acceleration, shifting and braking. That movement makes shifts feel vague, contributes to wheel hop and puts extra strain on the engine and transmission mounts. A drivetrain stabilizer ties the drivetrain to the chassis to keep it in place.

We carry AWE Tuning drivetrain stabilizer packages for the 1997 to 2002 Audi A4, S4 and A6 and Volkswagen Passat. They are available with rubber mounts for a quieter, daily friendly feel or polyurethane mounts for firmer control, and there is also a stabilizer with poly mount for manual transmission cars. The result is crisper shifts and more immediate throttle response. This collection does not currently include strut tower bars or subframe braces.
