Valve Lifters & Lifter Shim Sets

Lifters, also called tappets or cam followers, ride on the camshaft and pass its motion to the valves. On engines with shim adjusted valvetrains, precise shims set the valve lash, the small clearance that lets each valve close fully. Correct lash matters on a built head, especially after installing new valves, springs or more aggressive camshafts.

This collection is focused on Ferrea lifter shim sets for VW and Audi 2.0T FSI and TSI engines. We carry the Ferrea LP1100 set with 0.90mm shims and the Ferrea LP1105 set, each sold as a set of 16 to cover every valve on a four cylinder head. They are intended for engine builders setting lash during a head rebuild or valvetrain upgrade on these popular turbocharged engines.
