Piston Pin Locks & Wire Locks

Piston pin locks hold the wrist pin in place inside the piston so it cannot walk out and gouge the cylinder wall. They are small parts, but a lost or poorly seated lock can destroy a cylinder, so builders install fresh locks every time pistons come apart.

We carry pin locks from JE Pistons and CP Pistons. JE Pistons chrome silicon wire locks are offered in sizes including 0.787in x 0.050in, 0.827in x 0.063in, 0.866in x 0.063in and 0.905in x 0.073in, and we also stock a JE Tru-Arc lock in 0.905in x 0.042in. CP Pistons wire locks cover the same common sizes, including versions for 21mm and 23mm pins. Match the lock to the pin diameter and groove width of your pistons, and use the size the piston maker specifies.
