APR Open Air Intake System Audi Q3 VW Tiguan 1.8T/2.0T MQB 2019-2024 - CARB EO D-782-8

The APR Open Intake System replaces the restrictive factory airbox on 1.8T and 2.0T EA888.3, 3B, 4 and 4B engines across the MQB, MQB EVO and MQB Ax platforms. It is an open-element design, not a sealed airbox: a high-flow conical filter sits behind a glass-filled polypropylene heatshield and inlet pipe that fences the filter off from radiator and engine-bay heat while the frontal inlet ducting feeds it outside air.

The filter is washable and reusable pleated cotton gauze with 20% more surface area than stock, and APR measures it flowing 22% more air at lower pressure drop across the depression range. Its outlet stack necks down to 127mm (5 inches) - a cross-sectional area 260% larger than the stock tube - and the straight-through path avoids the sharp bends that cost the factory intake flow. Downstream it connects either directly to the factory MAF housing or to APR's back tube adapter depending on engine, and it supports both MAF and non-MAF applications. The system drops onto the factory mounting pegs, so installation is a hand-tool job. APR publishes no ECU tune requirement for this intake, and it carries CARB Executive Order D-782-8, making it legal for sale and use on emissions-controlled vehicles in all 50 states when used per APR's application guide. Vehicles with secondary air injection require APR part number CI100020-A instead.
