The APR Open Carbon Fiber Intake System replaces the factory closed airbox on EA888 Gen 3 and Gen 4 MQB 1.8T and 2.0T engines with an open carbon fiber design. A 7 inch washable cotton gauze filter with frontal inlet and 4 inch rear outlet limits pressure drop, while a functional carbon fiber heat shield keeps radiator heat away from the intake tract. It flows 833 CFM versus the factory airbox's 521 CFM, a 60 percent improvement, for gains up to 12 AWHP and 13 AWFT-LBS over stock. The thin-wall carbon fiber tubing maximizes internal diameter and is compatible with APR and factory rear intake tubes and turbo inlet pipes.
