The Dinan Carbon Fiber Semi-Open Cold Air Intake improves airflow to the BMW B58 engine with a larger airbox and filter element, sharpening throttle response and easing strain on the turbocharger. The semi-open lid adds an auditory port for a pronounced sporty intake note. Its carbon fiber intake tube deletes the factory baffling and Helmholtz chamber that create turbulence and rob power, straightening the tract for cleaner flow. The airbox is 30% larger than stock, filter area grows 34% (from 76.3in² to 102.1in²), and the injection-molded Air Mass Meter housing is 8% larger. On an otherwise stock car it produces gains of +15 HP and +13 lb-ft at 6000 RPM.
