Ignition Coils: AEM High Output Coils & Drivers

An ignition coil turns low battery voltage into the high voltage spark that lights the air and fuel mixture. On a modified engine running more boost, higher compression or ethanol blends, a stronger coil keeps the spark from blowing out under load, which helps prevent misfires at high rpm.

This collection focuses on AEM ignition hardware for custom and standalone builds. We carry the AEM High-Output Inductive Ignition Coil in both smart and dumb versions. The smart coil has a built in igniter for direct triggering, while the dumb coil is designed to run from an external driver. For that setup we also stock the AEM Ignition Coil Driver in 1-Channel and 4-Channel versions. These universal parts are popular on engine swaps and standalone ECU projects where factory coils are no longer a fit.
