The hose between the intake pipe and the throttle body takes years of heat cycles and engine movement. Eventually factory rubber cracks, softens or splits, which creates unmetered air leaks that cause rough idle, hesitation and fault codes. Replacing it restores a sealed intake and correct airflow readings.
