This is aFe's Magnum FLOW Inverted Replacement Air Filter - the IRF - with oil-free Pro DRY S media, for 2003-2024 Dodge and Ram trucks running the 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins inline-six diesel. The inverted construction is what distinguishes it: the element is built with 100% polyurethane on all four sides for an airbox that seats the filter the other way up, and it uses two layers of progressively finer mesh synthetic media rather than the three-layer stack in aFe's standard OE replacement panel.

Being a dry filter, it needs no oil at service time, so there is no risk of over-oiling a mass airflow sensor. It is washable and reusable through multiple cleaning cycles, and the tall, open, evenly spaced pleats hold a lot of dust before airflow suffers, which stretches the interval between cleanings. An integrated urethane bump seal gives a leak-free fit in the housing over the filter's life. It drops into the factory airbox with no modification and no tune. One fitment note from aFe: this filter does not fit vehicles equipped with the RAM Active Air System - check your truck before ordering. aFe states this product does not require a CARB EO number. If you want the standard-orientation OE replacement panel with a foam pre-filter instead, that is part number 31-10102.
