The aFe Takeda Momentum cold air intake system for the FK8 Civic Type R replaces the factory airbox with a roto-molded housing in black cross-linked polyethylene, a heat-soak resistant material, with a large clear sight window for checking the filter without removing the airbox. It uses a 7-1/2 in tall conical Pro 5R filter with an inverted top and 360 degree radial flow, built from five layers of oiled cotton gauze. A CAD designed, dyno-tuned roto-molded tube connects to the turbo inlet through a silicone hump coupling, and the kit bolts on with no cutting or drilling of factory parts. It is rated at up to +14 hp and +16 lb-ft.
