This kit replaces the factory 4G63 head bolts with ten ARP L19 studs, a premium alloy grade rated at 260,000 psi tensile and 200,000 to 230,000 psi yield, comfortably past the 220,000 psi of ARP2000 and the 180,000 to 210,000 psi of 8740 chromoly. That extra clamping capacity is what keeps a head gasket sealed on a high boost 7 bolt build. Supplied with ten parallel ground washers, ten 8740 chromoly 12 point nuts and a 0.5 oz packet of ARP Ultra-Torque assembly lubricant, the studs are a direct drop in for the OEM hardware and need no machining to the head or block. Each stud arrives individually wrapped in wax paper because L19 has to be kept away from moisture until it is installed.
