Brembo Prime Front Brake Disc 340x30mm Plain Face BMW 228i 328i 435i - Composite

The 09.C397.13 is a Brembo Prime Composite front disc for the BMW F2x/F3x cars: 340 mm diameter, 30 mm thick new, ventilated, 28.4 mm minimum thickness. Composite is Brembo’s pinned bi-material construction: an aluminium hat is joined to a high-carbon cast-iron braking ring by steel pins, so the ring can expand and contract against the hat instead of fighting it. That removes weight from the rotating assembly and keeps the ring flatter as it heats, while leaving the friction surface as iron. It is a different method from Dual Cast, where the aluminium is cast onto the ring in the foundry rather than pinned to it.

Read this one against its sibling before you order. Brembo builds 09.C397.13 and 09.C398.13 to exactly the same numbers — 340 mm diameter, 30 mm thickness, 28.4 mm wear limit, 73 mm height, 79 mm centering bore, 5 holes, same Composite construction, and very nearly the same vehicle list. The only difference between them is the face of the disc. This part, 09.C397.13, is the plain-faced one. 09.C398.13 is drilled and slotted. Nothing else separates them, so choose on the finish you want, not on dimensions. This disc also uses Pillar Venting Technology and is supplied with its hub fastening screws.
