A single CARR replacement connecting rod bolt with an 8 mm shank and a 1.5 in under head length. CARR bolts are made from a multiphase alloy rated at 285,000 psi ultimate tensile strength and can be retorqued an indefinite number of times when installed by the stretch method. Stretch is set at 80 percent of the bolt's calculated yield load, using the figure for its head marking on the Steel Bolt instruction sheet.

Can the bolt be reused?

  • Yes. CARR multiphase bolts can be retorqued an indefinite number of times when installed by the stretch method and never overstretched.

What stretch should it be tightened to?

  • Use the figure for the head marking on the Steel Bolt instruction sheet: 0.0065 to 0.0075 in for CARR SM8 and 0.0050 to 0.0060 in for CARR SM81.

Can I use torque instead of stretch?

  • Torque and angle values apply only with CP-Carrillo lube. With any other lube, install by stretch only.

Returns

  • 30 days from delivery to request and ship back a return on new, uninstalled items in original packaging with all hardware.
  • Standard returns: 8% restocking fee on the item price before tax and shipping. Shipping is not refunded in either direction. All waived if the item is defective or we made the error.
