A set of eight Pro-H connecting rods for the BMW S63 and N63 4.4L twin turbo V8, cut from Carrilloy steel forgings, heat treated and shot peened. Each rod measures 5.453 in (138.5 mm) center to center with a 22 mm pin bore and a 57.6 mm big end bore, and weighs 538 g. The rods use 3/8 in WMC bolts in H11 tool steel, good for about 15 to 18 torque cycles, and come with CP-Carrillo bolt lube.

  • Yes. The set includes 8 connecting rods with their bolts and CP-Carrillo bolt lube.

  • The BMW S63B44T0 (S63TU), S63B44T2 and S63B44T4 and the N63B44T0 (N63TU) 4.4L twin turbo V8, as used in the BMW M5, M6, X5 M and X6 M.

How many times can the WMC bolts be torqued?

  • WMC bolts are H11 tool steel and are good for about 15 to 18 torque cycles. CARR multiphase bolts can be retorqued an indefinite number of times when installed by the stretch method.

How should the rod bolts be tightened?

  • The stretch method is preferred, using a rod bolt stretch gauge and the stretch figure for the bolt code on the Steel Bolt instruction sheet. Torque and angle values apply only when using the CP-Carrillo lube supplied with the rods; with any other lube, use stretch only.

Can I buy a single spare rod later?

  • Spare connecting rods are available and are weight matched to within 1 gram of the original set.
