The DEI Gen-3 Onyx turbo shield wraps a T22 size turbine housing to keep heat in the turbo and reduce turbo lag. It is built in layers: a silicone coated Onyx Black outer shell that resists fraying and strengthens the seams, a thick silica insulation layer, a stainless steel, glass fiber and silicone inner layer, and a fine stainless steel fabric inner cover that will not break down or turn brittle with heat. Riveted anchors secure the shield, and T22 shields have a wastegate cutout for internally gated housings.
