DEI's Under Carpet Sound Deadening Layer delivers a second-layer acoustic and thermal solution that quiets the cabin while improving climate stability. The two-layer design combines a top flexible mass loaded barrier (1 lb/ft^2) with a bottom layer of marine-grade acoustical foam, actively reducing squeaks, rattles, and engine noise while helping keep interiors cooler in summer and warmer in cold weather. Sized at 48in x 54in, it can be added under carpet on fire walls or anywhere in the interior where extra sound deadening or insulation is needed. It can be mechanically fastened or tacked in place with Boom Mat Hi-Temp Spray Adhesive (010490), and Boom Mat recommends using UC over Boom Mat Vibration Dampening Material for maximum noise control. Maximum noise control, a quiet interior, and no mold or mildew issues are the result of this carefully engineered, multi-layer approach.
