Dinan Carbon Fiber Engine Cover BMW M2/M3/M4 S58 2021-2026 - Gloss Twill with Matte Accents

The G8x M2, M3 and M4 leave the factory with an engine bay that reads as visually uneven, because the standard cover stops short of the charge cooler. Dinan's carbon fiber cover extends across it, which is the whole point of the part: a single, symmetrical surface instead of two mismatched ones. Familiar factory elements such as the power hump are carried over, while other details are reworked, including the cylinder count callouts, which Dinan reorients vertically. This part number is the gloss version, a 2x2 gloss twill carbon fiber base with opposing matte carbon fiber accents. Dinan quotes 0.25 hours of labour.

Two things separate this cover from its three siblings, and both matter. First the engine: this cover is shaped for the S58 in the G80 M3, G82 M4 and G87 M2, and it will not fit a B58D car. The Dinan B58D covers, D590-0003 and D590-0004, are a different part and will not fit here. Second the finish: this one is gloss base with matte accents, while D590-0005-B is the same cover with the finishes reversed, a matte base with gloss accents. One practical note on installation, from Dinan: the M emblem and the grommets are not supplied, and must be transferred across from your original engine cover.

Dinan warrants its performance products for the remainder of the vehicle manufacturer's new-car limited warranty (up to 4 years/50,000 miles) or for 2 years/unlimited miles, whichever is greater. Dinan further states that while the vehicle is still covered by the factory warranty, it covers both a defective Dinan component and any original manufacturer component directly affected by it. Dinan also states plainly that installing performance products may affect the vehicle manufacturer's new-car limited warranty.
