The Dinan high performance heat exchanger cools the S55 engine's charge air circuit with a core that is 40mm thick versus the 24mm stock unit, carrying 60% more volume and 19% more face area. The 40mm depth was chosen to preserve airflow to the main radiator behind it, so normal engine cooling is unaffected. The larger core lowers water temperature to the intercooler by an average of 9 degrees across the RPM range, which in turn cools intake air by a further 6 degrees on average and yields a consistent 10 HP and 20 lb-ft of torque with no change to the engine tune. It is rubber mounted for vibration isolation and track tested for consistent performance under extreme conditions.
