These are the small drum-in-hat shoes that sit inside the rear rotor and hold the vehicle at rest, so they wear from parking use rather than from service braking. The 100% new carbon steel platform is dipped in high temperature anti-rust black paint, and the semi-metallic lining is glue lined and heat treated to bond it to the steel. Each shoe is precision arc grinded to the original drum diameter so the parking brake holds without excessive lever travel, and attachment hardware such as levers and pins is included where the OE design uses it.
