Foaming Surface Wash is a dual-layer snow foam formulated from the ground up for THE BOSS Foam Cannon Auto-Mix system. The two layers do different jobs: the primary foam clings to the surface and softens road film and organic contaminants, while the secondary foam releases those contaminants and carries the abrasive grit safely to the ground. That is what makes a foam wash worth doing - the grit is off the paint before a mitt ever touches it, which is how wash-induced scratches are avoided. Griot's rates dwell time at 5 to 10 minutes of active cleaning.
The formula is pH-neutral, so it retains existing waxes and sealants and can be used for routine maintenance washing. Part number B3201 is the one-gallon jug; the same concentrate is offered as 35 oz bottle B3203, which threads directly onto the cannon. Note that this is Foaming Surface Wash and not Foaming Surface Prep - the two are different products with different dilutions - and it is a foam cannon concentrate, distinct from Car Wash (11103), the bucket soap, and Spray-On Car Wash (10984), the ready-to-use waterless spray.

Directions (BOSS Foaming System routine maintenance)
- Start with a dry vehicle surface that is cool to the touch, and clean the wheels first with a dedicated wheel cleaner and scrub tool.
- Auto-Mix: insert the correct metering tip into the pick-up ball - purple for an electric pressure washer, pink for a gas unit, aqua for maximum foam - then attach a 35 oz Foaming Surface Wash bottle to the cannon or pour straight concentrate into the supplied 33.8 oz jar.
- Manual-Mix: pre-mix Foaming Surface Wash at 20:1 - add 1.6 ounces to the jar and fill with water.
- Skip the pre-rinse; the foam clings and lifts more on a dry surface.
- Keeping the cannon 3 to 4 feet from the vehicle, apply the foam from the rocker panels up to the roof in slow, deliberate, overlapping passes. Widen the spray pattern for the sides and hood, narrow it for the roof.
- Allow the foam to dwell for 5 to 10 minutes. Do not allow the product to dry on the surface.
- Insert a green 25 degree nozzle and rinse with slow passes, keeping the nozzle 2 to 3 feet from the surface, from the rocker panel to the roof, then top to bottom, removing all traces of foam.
- Caution: do not apply a high-pressure stream from closer than 2 feet to loose paint or flimsy plastic or rubber trim.
- Evaluate the paint afterwards. On a well-maintained car this can serve as a touchless wash; if road haze remains, follow with a traditional contact wash from the top down.
