The HKS S-Type Oil Cooler Kit adds a dedicated engine oil cooling circuit to the FL5 Civic Type R using a 9-row core measuring 200 x 122.5 x 48 mm mounted inside the left front fender. Air is fed to the core by a resin air guide and intake duct, and a core protector shields it from road debris. The kit runs #10 (AN-10) hoses and fittings and includes mounting brackets, a thermostat housing, an oil filter and the fittings needed to plumb it, with total oil capacity rising to 5.9 liters. HKS quotes roughly six hours of installation and modification of the bumper and splash shield. A dry carbon air duct is available separately as part number 15999-AH001.
