The HKS Slide Cam Pulley replaces a factory cam gear on Honda B series twin cam engines with an adjustable unit, letting cam timing be advanced or retarded without moving the belt a tooth at a time. It is machined from A2017 duralumin with a nickel plated gear section for wear resistance and weighs 0.283 kg against 0.318 kg for the OEM gear. The slots give 10 degrees of advance and 10 degrees of retard from the standard setting, with each graduation on the scale worth 2 degrees, so intake and exhaust phasing can be dialed in around aftermarket camshafts or a ported head. One pulley is supplied and it fits either the intake or the exhaust camshaft, so a pair is needed to adjust both.
