The HKS Slide Cam Pulley is an adjustable replacement cam gear for the Mazda B6-ZE and BP-ZE twin cam engines fitted to the NA and NB MX-5. It is machined from A2014 super light duralumin with nickel plating on the gear teeth, which lifts surface hardness from about Hv 350 to Hv 500, and weighs 0.327 kg against 0.350 kg for the design it replaces. The slide slots give 20 degrees of advance and 20 degrees of retard from the factory setting, so valve timing can be matched to a ported head, an aftermarket camshaft or a forced induction build. One pulley is supplied and it can be fitted to either the intake or the exhaust camshaft.
