The HKS Type-S front spoiler is a CFD and 3D CAD developed bumper spoiler for the FL5 Civic Type R, moulded in glass fiber reinforced plastic with carbon fiber barge panels at each end and projecting 45 mm from the bumper. It ships unpainted, so budget for paint before installation: HKS specifies degreasing with silicone remover or acetone, sanding at 240 to 400 grit, primer, a second sanding at 320 grit or finer, then topcoat, with drying at ambient temperature and any forced drying held under 50 degrees Celsius. HKS advises test fitting before paint. The kit includes the spoiler, left and right barge panels, an emblem and an accessory pack of bolts, nuts, molding and tape, and installation takes about three hours.
