The HKS Yamaha Performance Damper is a chassis damper, not a suspension damper and not a steering damper. It is a Yamaha Motor product that HKS re-tunes for each vehicle, and it works by damping the micro-deformation of the body shell itself, what Yamaha terms chassis viscosity, so that handling stability and ride comfort improve together instead of trading against one another. On a full size truck that translates to less body shudder over broken surfaces and steadier tracking. The set comprises two dampers with red steel brackets and mounting hardware, fitted transversely across the frame.
