This is MagnaFlow's California Grade replacement for the second converter in the exhaust, the underfloor unit that sits downstream of the manifold mounted primary catalyst. It is a spun body design that bolts to the factory flanges with no cutting or welding, and a single laser fusion weld replaces the seam used on the OE spun body so there is one less place for a leak to start. The shell is corrosion resistant 409 stainless with 16 gauge mandrel bent tubing, 308 stainless MIG welds and OE sized barbed hangers in 410 stainless. Overall length is 27.25 in on a 2.5 in inlet, with a ceramic substrate in a compact, low mass housing for better thermal efficiency. Two flange gaskets, two bolts and six nuts are in the box, and the converter is built to meet California Air Resources Board requirements for legal installation in California and CARB restricted states on the listed vehicles.
