Red Line 5W40 is a fully synthetic, ester-based high-performance motor oil with a high-ZDDP anti-wear package and a thicker hot oil film than a petroleum 20W50, popular in turbocharged applications. Suitable for VW/Audi 500 00/501 01/502 00/505 00/505 01, BMW LL-01, Porsche A40, and Mercedes-Benz 229.1/229.3/229.5; recommended for API SN/SM/SL/CF and ACEA A3/B3/B4. Red Line lists it as suitable for these specifications rather than OEM approved; if your car needs a factory approved BMW LL-01 oil, we carry Red Line Pro-Series Euro 5W40. Returns

  • 30 days from delivery to request and ship back a return on new, uninstalled items in original packaging with all hardware.
  • Standard returns: 8% restocking fee on the item price before tax and shipping. Shipping is not refunded in either direction. All waived if the item is defective or we made the error.
  • Fitment guaranteed: select your vehicle above, or confirm fitment with us in writing before you order. If the part shows as a fit and it is wrong, the return is on us, even after installation. Otherwise, installed or used parts cannot be returned.
  • Final sale: special orders, coilovers, electronics, engine internals, turbochargers, superchargers and turbo kits, unless defective or we sent the wrong item.
