Red Line Lightweight Racing ATF Full Synthetic Type F Drag Racing - 1 Quart

Red Line Lightweight Racing ATF is the thinner of Red Line's two racing automatic transmission fluids. "Lightweight" is literal and measurable: it runs 21.46 cSt at 40°C and 4.74 cSt at 100°C with a viscosity index of 140, so there is less fluid drag in the converter, pump and clutch packs than with the standard Racing ATF. In a drag car that shows up as less parasitic loss and less heat generated in the first place, which is why it is popular in bracket and heads-up classes and with turbo and blown doorslammers running NMRA, NMCA, ORSCA and PSCA.

It is a full-synthetic formulation built without friction-modifying "slipperiness" additives, so clutch packs take hold quickly and the converter locks up rather than slipping and generating heat, and it carries extreme-pressure additives for gear and bushing film strength. Red Line recommends it where a Type F fluid is called for — Ford Type F / M2C33F, GM TH350 and TH400, Powerglide, Chrysler TF727, and Lenco and B&J planetary transmissions. It is compatible with petroleum ATFs and with other brands' synthetic ATFs, so it can be used to top up without draining. Red Line positions this fluid specifically for drag racing automatic transmissions and does not list street applications for it.
