The ST X is a height adjustable coilover kit tuned in Germany for street driving, pairing a fixed, non adjustable damper valving with application specific spring rates so the car corners flat without turning harsh. Ride height is set on an adjustable spring perch machined from friction optimized polyamide composite with an embedded stainless steel insert, which stops the perch from seizing to the strut and keeps a trapezoidal thread pitch turning freely years later. The strut housings are galvanized zinc coated steel, and inside each damper sits a hardened chrome piston rod, a mono block guide system, a low friction piston band and a pressure resistant sealing package built up in multiple layers. Elastomer bump stops with an integrated dust protection system keep water and grit off the rod and seals while acting as dynamic load limiters. Every damper is built by hand by KW in Fichtenberg, Germany and shock dyno tested before it is boxed.
