XClutch's Stage 1 kit for the 3.5L Tacoma pairs an organic friction disc on a sprung hub with a heavy duty diaphragm pressure plate carrying 25% more clamp load than stock, lifting holding capacity to 410 lb-ft without making the pedal punishing. The disc measures 10 13/16 in across and splines to the 21 spline input shaft, and its sprung centre soaks up driveline shock, which matters on a truck that tows and crawls as much as it commutes. Organic friction material keeps take up smooth and predictable, so the kit suits street, off road and towing duty. It ships as friction disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot, aligning tool and technical service bulletins as required; a flywheel is not included, so the factory unit is resurfaced or replaced separately.
