Turbo Wastegates: External Gates & Internal Actuators

A wastegate controls boost by bleeding exhaust gas around the turbine once target pressure is reached. External wastegates are separate valves mounted on the manifold, ideal for high boost and large turbos, while internal wastegate setups use an actuator on the turbo itself. Either way, accurate boost control protects the engine and keeps power consistent.
